From the Speak List user guide · updated 2026-10-20.
Text size:AA on many screens, or Settings → Display → Text size — System follows the iPhone's text size, up to Speak List's Extra Large limit. System is first in AA and to the right of the Text size heading in Settings. It is the default for new users; existing users keep their previous choice. Alternatively, choose Small, Normal, Large or Extra Large for a fixed app size, independent of iPhone text size. The menu previews each manual size. Your lists and reading text follow the setting everywhere; buttons and menus grow more modestly so screens stay organized, and the welcome page keeps its fixed design.
Appearance: Light, Dark, or follow the phone (Settings → Display → Appearance).
Languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, or System default, in Settings → Language. That changes menus, buttons, and list labels across the app.
Speak microphone language is separate: tap the globe on the Speak surface to choose what language you dictate in (useful if the app is in English but you speak Spanish, for example). Opened it by mistake? Tap the X in the top corner to close the list without changing anything. Also note: German is now a full app language, and the app's Language list shows seven choices plus System default.
iPad: Speak List works on iPad too. It is made for iPhone, so the iPad shows it as an enlarged iPhone view — the same screens and buttons, comfortably bigger to read. To find it in the App Store on an iPad, switch the search filter to iPhone Apps (or open a direct link — it installs normally either way).
Translations beyond English are still being reviewed; wording feedback is welcome.
